Rkjoyce thinks the formatting is too hard

Continuing the discussion from A New Challenger Appears - STL Approves:

Are you able to post a screenshot of what you are seeing? I cannot tell if there is an actual bug or if you just do not like the results. As far as I know, we have the following:

  • **this** and __this__ both yield this (bold)
  • *this* and _this_ both yield this (italic)
  • < yields <, and > yields >, and & yields &.
  • Starting a line with - or * followed by a space creates a bulleted list.
    • Putting two spaces before the - or * creates a sub-list.
  • Starting a line with > creates a block-quote.
  • A line consisting of nothing but 3+ dashes (---) creates a horizontal line:

  • Except if the line before the dashes contains text:

Text here

  • Headings can also be done with 1-6 #'s before the line.

Heading 1 (#)

Heading 2 (##)

Heading 3 (###)

Heading 6 (######)
  • If you start a line with 1. it creates a numbered list. In fact, the actual numbers you use do not matter except for the first. (In the following example, I used the numbers 1,1,4,1,7 and they were converted to 1,2,3,4,5.)
    • Unfortunately, there is no way that I know of to create an alphabetized list.
  1. a
  2. b
  3. c
  4. d
  5. e

I sure wish those (nifty) tips you gave covered all the oddnesses. They don’t (or at least didn’t).

My perspective on elections is only one branch of a much more comprehensive outlook.

More on this when I get some time…

It would be nice if you could state some specifics. On both of those points. (And yes, I saw your third line as well.)

I think the confusing here is that I went into his entry and edited it so it was formatted properly as opposed to /= home grown formatting. =/
